Walking is one of the easiest and best ways to loose the baby fat after giving birth. Yes, it will take some effort, but it can be enjoyable as well. Walking is an exercise you can do either alone, with a friend, or with your baby. Walking with your baby in a stroller is commonly known, as of late, as “stroller walking”.
When you make stroller walking a part of your routine to loose baby fat, you are not only doing yourself some good, but you are also providing fresh air and sunshine for your baby, as well as increasing the bond between you and your baby.
Whether you walk with your baby in a stroller or not, make sure to take long strides to increase your effort and the amount of calories burned, along with increasing the strength and flexibility of the long lean muscles of your legs. As for speed, start out slow and gradually increase it. During the first few weeks after giving birth, you should not exert yourself much and should only take short leisurely walks that so not leave you felling like you’ve had to make much of an effort.
After you have had your six-week post-partum check-up and your doctor has given the ok, then you can increase your pace and the amount to which you exert your self while walking. The best speed for walking to burn calories without overexertion is to walk briskly, but still be able to carry on a conversation. This is an even better reason to walk with a buddy or to bring your infant along. Just remember, that when walking outside, however far you walk, you will have to go that distance again to get back home, so don’t over do it. Increase your stamina in speed, as well as distance, gradually.
